XLRI conducted village trip to PATAMDA pics from my camera

Our dean often says " to earn a lot of money is of no use  unless u can empathize with people and know about the sufferings and relate to them . A xl graduate is not the one who earns 20 lakh and more by using the xl tag and its charisma but the one who actually goes out into the masses and takes india forward . Once u step out of the campus u will see that the Problems and solutions both lie in the masses. Innovation is within u . Go and change atleast try to change india not just lead a rich life of xl alumni. Being in the top 5 mba schools of the country is of no use if u use it just to earn packages which are huge .Try to understanding the value of your life. Use ur intelligence for the masses.Being in the top 1% of indias best students is of no use if u just think it as a weapon to come to xlri and graduate from here to top business firms of india and asia with just paper strips called money and a name that u have got a placement of 75 lakhs and beyond.Look at yourself .Just go and reach the masses u will find greater happiness and the institute, mother earth and humanity at large will forever remember u."

After the trip i truely believe every word said above is true. I liked the trip. Earning money is really needed but if u see the pics i had taken u will see how obvious of the world a fragment of the 70% people of india(( who live in villages) actually live. What does XLRI actually stand for it stands for people .I had my nokia mobile with me. I have tried my best to capture as many as possible given the storage constraints. If u go through the pictures you will see they are all self explainatory . Some are of villages, some of schools, some of children who never know whether ever they would get a chance ot read further. They dont know much about money. They don't care much either. They just live on and on in their own world. You will know that God actually rests in them.

The most basic problem at patamda is that they don't have enough medical facilities, teachings staff and also communication facilities. While some roads have been created by pradhan mantri gram sadak yojana but still there is no means for transport barring cycles. The villages nearing jamshedpur are really in bad need of teachers.Teachers who can teach. Government on their part doesn't do much . They dont recruit new teachers. Majority of the people of the villages are completely cutoff from the society . They dont have enough earning. They dont have any savings. The NGOs are doing their bit but owing to funds hardly enough can be done. The role of the government here becomes very important. XLRI batches previously have made many recommendation including using oxen to run generators thus reducing energy costs. Some IITians studying in XLRI have also taken a step beyond by actually helping the village people to have some knowledge of mordern machinery which is still in acquisition stage.
